Certification Level: Level 1 Trained
Playing History:

Played for over 30+ years. Mostly in the Quebec/Montreal area, a couple of years in the US Midwest and now for the last 9 years in the local OCVL in mens and even in co-ed with my wife.

Started in high school, played AAA in CEGEP. Pause during university thanks to a dean who did not believe in elitism - he cancelled all the competitive teams. Still spent more time at the gym than in the engineering classes. Good thing since I met my wife on a volleyball court at the time.

After the engineering degree, in Montreal, I played in a number of leagues and at the senior provincial level, roaming the region, against teams like Rouge et Or, Onion Patch and guys like Glenn Hoag. Good times...

Shared passion between rock climbing in Eastern Canada and the Alps and playing VB during the winter months.

Indoor played mostly middle, but now with the amount of millage pilled in my knees, I prefer to stick to Power and at odd times  Libero and Offside where my knees are not as much sollicited and my aging speed is compensated by experience.

This winter, we formed a new mens team in tier 2 in the OCVL league. The oldest teammate is 25, not counting my old bones... But lots of heart on the court.

Beach VB this summer coupled with many hours in a white water  kayak (upright and not) learning to surf this summer restored the lean body of my youth (or so the scale and wife say).

Coaching Resumé:

Assisting coach for the 16UF Comp last year.

I dug myself deeper this year coaching the 17UF Comp. I am delighted to work with my youngest daughter again and see all these fine young athletes learn the skills that will allow them to play at higher levels, university or college, and hopefully for a pleasurable and long VB career.

Current Career: Managing software development projects/teams
