| Athlete | Moving on! (Plan for Next Year) | My best Maverick moment! | My words of advice for those young athletes starting to play volleyball |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaz Fenton (19u) | Next year I'm continuing at University of Ottawa and hope to be accepted into the Fine Arts Program | When we came 3rd at 19U Provincials and we finally seemed to come together as a team | Keep trying no matter what - the ones who persist are the ones that get better. |
| Lauren Baerg (19u) | Undecided, either Ottawa U or Brock, maybe some coaching. | Handing out the 19u provincial bronze medals. | Play hard, practice harder. Never give up. Never take for granted everything your parents and coaches do for you. Appreciate every moment, because you'll regret it later if you don't. |
| Laurenis Portal | Next year I'm planning to get into Algonquin and continue to play volleyball! | my best Maverick moment would be provincials! It was an amazing experience, new team, new friends, and wonderful coaches! | to play volleyball you have to have the passion for the sport, motivation, and commitment! keep trying every time, you will make mistakes along the way; is about learning and having fun, not winning every game... |
| Heather George | I will have to make that decision in the next few weeks..yikes! I am either going to McGill or Wilfred Laurier to study Business. Or...stay at home and go to Ottawa with a $20 000 scholarship. how do i pick!! | There has been a countless number of memories over the last four years playing mavs. My favourite moment would have to be winning bronze this year at the u19 provincials. I had so much fun that day! Everyone played so well and it was a great feeling! Or...when the ball hit my head while i tried to dodge it. | To be able to play to your fullest ability, you have to have self-confidence and a positive attitude. If you believe that you can dig the ball...you will dig the ball...and it will be a DIME! Also, always remember volleyball is the greatest sport ever created. GO MAVS. |
| Olesia Bissett | To study Social Sciences at the University of Toronto and hopefully play for the Women's Varsity Volleyball Team! | There are so many "Maverick Moments" that I can't choose a specific one. I'll have to say that what I've enjoyed the most are all the experiences I've shared with my team mates and growing up with the girls over the years. I love you guys! | As cliché as it sounds, play with your heart and trust your instinct! You have nothing to lose! |
| Kathryn Thomas | either Queens, Waterloo or McGill not sure which one yet. | There are to many moments, i can't pick just one, but my favorite part of mavs was the amazing people I met. Any moments with them were memorable. | to just have fun and not worry so much about winning. You will have a great time and probably end up playing your best. |
| Kathryn Weihrer | I plan on going to the University of Ottawa to study English. I will also be playing volleyball for the gee gees. | My first overnight tournament 15U...soo much fun. | Have fun, play hard. |
| Leighann Bishop | Attending the Royal Military College of Canada with a volleyball scholarship to play for the varsity women's volleyball team | Getting Bronze at 19u provincials, and beating MAC... twice. | Don't give up on your dream, because someday it will happen. |
| Josée Vincent (19u) | my plans for next year are to hopefully play volleyball in anyway that i can, maybe not university because i am very busy with school but in a league or something like that. | My best mavs moments were every moment playing together as a team in all our games and our tournaments. | And my advice to young volleyball players is to continue playing volleyball as long as you can because it ends too soon and enjoy yourself. |
| Chloe Ahern | coming soon... |
